Behind the Camera
I'm a creative sports enthusiast and visual storyteller, with over 15 years of experience capturing action, senior sessions, event photos, and lifestyle images.
What started as a hobby when my high school yearbook teacher gave me the opportunity to photograph my first wedding solo after receiving my first camera at 17, eventually turned into the career of my dreams. I took almost every 8-5 job in the book that I thought I should be doing after graduating, only to realize that what God had planned was far greater than every one of my expectations.
I didn't realize it at the time, but it ended up being one of the greatest gifts. Having the chance to capture so many milestone moments in athletes lives, and transitioning to tell stories of seniors who have the entire world at their fingertips is such a blessing, and I thank God every day for allowing me to see beauty and emotion in every subject that I photograph.
My perspective changed and the wheels started turning when I suffered a shoulder injury after receiving a softball scholarship in college. I had no back-up plan, or plan C, (or the rest of the alphabet) for that matter. The sport that I'd dedicated so much time and effort into had to completely stop, and I lost my identity for a long time after I realized my shoulder wasn't going to heal.
